Manuscript Critique

  • Big-Picture In-line Comments: Light comments noted directly in your manuscript, focusing on macro-level elements such as structure, pacing, scene relevance, and character consistency.
  • Follow-up Revision Support: Includes one round of follow-up questions via email, available for 60 days after delivery. This support is designed to help you clarify feedback, discuss suggestions, and confidently approach revisions.
  • Timeline: 2–4 weeks.

Developmental Editing

  • What: A thorough, in-depth look into all aspects of your story, providing comprehensive feedback on plot, structure, characters, worldbuilding, pacing, and themes to strengthen your story’s core.
  • Ideal For: Drafts needing extensive, detailed polish.
  • Best For: Writers looking to refine every element of their story’s foundation and narrative arc.
  • Deliverables:
  • Editorial letter: (8–12 pages for average manuscript), offering deep analysis of your manuscript’s structure, character development, plot cohesion, pacing, narrative flow, worldbuilding, and thematic depth. Includes guidance on major revisions and opportunities to strengthen your story.
  • Detailed In-line comments: Focused annotations throughout the manuscript covering plot development, characters, pacing, worldbuilding, consistency issues, and plot holes, with suggestions for structural revisions, deeper themes, and smoother narrative flow. I also include my reader reactions!
  • Copyediting-lite: I will flag issues related to clarity, repetitive phrasing, or consistently awkward sentences to help improve the readability of your manuscript. Please note this is not a comprehensive copyedit or proofread.
  • Follow-up Revision Support: Includes up to three rounds of follow-up questions via email, available for 90 days after delivery. This support is designed to help you clarify feedback, discuss suggestions, and confidently approach revisions.
  • Timeline: 4–6 weeks, depending on word count.
